Meet Tangawizi: A work of art still learning to trust the world.

Tangawizi and her brother Chai are truly magnificent teenagers — striking, curious, and quietly watching everything around them. People are still something new to them, something they're carefully, bravely trying to understand. Every gentle touch, every soft word, is a small step into unfamiliar territory.

Right now, Tangawizi is wary and shy, but underneath that caution is a playful, alert spirit just waiting to feel safe enough to come out. She notices everything, considers everything, and is slowly — so slowly — learning that human hands can mean kindness rather than fear.

She has a long way to go, and that's okay. Trust isn't built in a day, and every bit of progress she makes is worth celebrating. We'll be sharing her journey as she takes each small, brave step forward — we hope you'll follow along with her.
