Meet BobbySox: Six Pounds of Puppy, Six Hundred Pounds of Attitude
Let's get one thing straight: BobbySox did not need rescuing. BobbySox was simply in the middle of a very important mission. At just six weeks old, he spotted a jogger — out for an innocent morning run — and decided that woman's trouser leg belonged to him now. What followed was a full-blown tug-of-war, one determined puppy against one increasingly confused human, dragging said jogger halfway down the street until a kind woman finally intervened and peeled him off. BobbySox, we assume, considered this a draw. Possibly a win. That's BobbySox in a nutshell: small, fierce, and utterly convinced the world revolves around him. (Reader, it does not. But good luck telling him that.)
The Ego of a King, the Body of a Sausage Roll BobbySox runs a tight ship, and he has kindly informed us of the house rules:
- Meals arrive on time. Not five minutes late. Not "just let me finish this email" late. On time. His internal clock is more reliable than most alarm systems, and he will let you know — with a very particular, pointed little bark and a look of such profound disappointment you'll feel it in your soul — exactly how far you've fallen short.
- Play happens on demand. The moment he's awake, you are, officially, on the clock. Toys will be presented. Games will be initiated. Sitting down to relax is, in his professional opinion, a bit rich of you.
- Naps are sacred and non-negotiable. Once his humble staff (that's you) have completed their feeding duties, he will retreat to nap for hours in a manner so peaceful and self-satisfied you'd think he'd just closed a business deal.
But Here's the Thing Underneath all that grumpy, self-important bluster is a genuinely brilliant little dog. BobbySox is sharp as a tack — the kind of clever that means he'll learn commands almost suspiciously fast, and then use that intelligence to figure out new ways to get exactly what he wants. He's got comic timing most sitcom writers would kill for, and a habit of doing something so ridiculous, so full of unearned confidence, that you'll be in stitches before you've even had your coffee. He is, in short, an absolute character — equal parts diva, comedian, and cuddle bug, all wrapped up in a package smaller than his personality has any right to fit into.
