Meet Kushi
Kushi refuses to accept that her back legs aren't fully working yet, and honestly, we've stopped trying to convince her otherwise.
This feisty girl zooms across the sanctuary on her two front legs like she's got somewhere important to be. Put her in her wheelchair and suddenly you're the one who needs to watch your toes. She's been known to chase down dogs she's decided, for reasons known only to her, deserve a piece of her mind. She's also perfected the art of pulling avocados straight off the lower branches, because apparently mobility challenges are no match for a determined girl with a snack in mind.
Kushi needs daily dressing changes, medication twice a day, and regular supervised exercise in her wheelchair, all while we hope and work toward helping her regain mobility in her back legs. It's a lot of care. She makes it look like nothing.
Kushi is proof that a body that doesn't cooperate is no match for a spirit that refuses to quit.
